Quetta is the capital of the largest province in the country and the hardest place in Pakistan to find a good teacher. Schools close for three months of winter vacation from December, the academies along Jinnah Road and in Satellite Town are few and full, and a student in Khuzdar, Turbat or Gwadar has no realistic way to reach them at all. Scoodemy Virtual Academy runs live classes over video with Scoodemy’s teacher pool from across Pakistan, in small sections, joined from home at a fixed monthly fee — twelve months a year.
Quetta’s students sit BISE Quetta for Matric and FSc, and then MDCAT for Bolan Medical College and the BUITEMS and University of Balochistan entry tests. A small Cambridge stream sits O and A Level at Beaconhouse, The City School and Tameer-i-Nau. The civil service is a stronger ambition here than almost anywhere — CSS and the Balochistan PCS carry real weight — and Quetta’s Hazara, Pashtun and Baloch families have all invested heavily in education. Our schools cover the board, the tests and the skills beyond them.
