Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 September 2026

What personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Scoodemy ("we", "us") collects when you use the Scoodemy website and services (the "Platform"), why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Scoodemy operates an education marketplace in Pakistan: tutor bookings, the Scoodemy Virtual Academy, and a directory of educational institutions. For anything in this policy, contact support@scoodemy.com.

2. Data we collect

Account data. Name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), profile photo, language and currency preferences. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier from Google; we never see your Google password.

Booking and payment data. Plans you subscribe to, lessons and classes you attend, invoices, payment method type and proof-of-payment uploads. Card details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by Scoodemy.

Learning data. For Virtual Academy students: attendance, homework and assessment results, and class recordings in which you may appear or be heard.

Tutor and teacher data. Qualifications, experience, identity documents and demo videos submitted with an application; payout details; ratings and reviews from students.

Business account data. Institution details, campus addresses, logos and the contact details of the person managing the listing.

Reviews and messages. Reviews you post and messages you send through the Platform.

Technical data. IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

3. Why we use it

  • To provide the services you ask for: matching you with tutors, running classes, issuing invoices, publishing approved listings and reviews.
  • To keep the Platform safe: verifying tutors, moderating reviews, detecting fraud and abuse.
  • To communicate with you: booking confirmations, class reminders, payment notices, and, if you opt in, marketing emails. You can turn marketing emails off in your account preferences at any time.
  • To improve the Platform, using aggregated and anonymised analytics.
  • To meet legal obligations, including tax and accounting records.

4. Who we share it with

  • Tutors and students see the information needed to arrange lessons: names, subjects, city, and messages you send each other. Your phone number and email are not shown publicly.
  • Service providers that host the Platform, send email, process payments and provide analytics, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • Google, when you sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar for Meet links; Google's own privacy policy applies to that data.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data.

5. Public information

Tutor profiles, approved institution listings, and approved reviews are public, including the reviewer's display name. Business account contact details are not published unless you enter them in the listing's public fields.

6. Children

Students under 18 use the Platform through a parent or guardian's account or with their consent. We collect only the information needed to deliver classes and lessons, and we do not show a child's contact details publicly.

7. Retention

We keep account data while your account is open and for as long as needed afterwards to meet legal and accounting duties, typically up to seven years for financial records. Class recordings are kept for the duration of the course plus a limited period for students to revise, then deleted. You can ask us to delete your account from your profile settings; some records must be kept as described above.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted with HTTPS, and access to personal data inside Scoodemy is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

9. Your rights

You can view and update your details in your account, download or ask for a copy of your data, object to marketing, and ask us to delete your account. Write to support@scoodemy.com and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes

We will post any changes here with a new date and notify account holders of material changes.
